HIGHLIGHTS
Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS) is seeking a full-time BC/BE Hematopathologist to join our central laboratory in Fort Myers, Florida. Our CAP-accredited, 20,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art clinical and pathology laboratory utilizes advanced technologies to serve FCS physicians, offering comprehensive services in molecular diagnostics, flow cytometry, cytogenetics, histology, clinical chemistry, and immunology. As a key member of our pathology team, you will play a vital role in supporting cancer care across the state. Specimens from all FCS locations are transported daily to the central lab for expert evaluation, enabling FCS clinicians to receive fast, accurate results that guide timely treatment decisions. You will collaborate closely with oncology teams statewide, providing expert consultation and guiding specialized testing in a dynamic, high-impact environment.

POSITION OVERVIEW 

  • Analyzing various pathology cases including bone marrow and peripheral blood cases. 
  • Determine and request appropriate ancillary testing as needed to complete diagnosis.
  • Additional responsibilities may be needed, determined by workload.
  • Ensure proper diagnosis and treatment of patients in an outpatient clinic setting.  
  • Provide guidance to the medical oncologists as needed.

REQUIREMENTS 

  • An allopathic US medical school graduate (AMG, MD), an osteopathic medical school graduate (DO), or an international medical school graduate (IMG, MD) with a valid Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) Certificate.
  • Approved residency completion and BE/BC in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology required.
  • Approved fellowship completion and BE/BC in Hematopathology required.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as Medical Doctor with the State of Florida Board of Medicine.
  • Fluency in the English language and the ability to communicate effectively to physicians and other employees. 
  • Experience of 3-5 years preferred.
